Giant Sea Kelp

Brown Algae (Macrocystis pyrifera), commonly known as giant kelp, is common along the coast of the northeastern Pacific Ocean and is also found in the southern oceans.  It is a rich source of vitamins and minerals and can stimulate, moisturize and regulate the tone and texture of the skin.  It has also been known to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Their inherent moisturizing, healing, and strengthening properties have been recognized as providing many benefits for human health and beauty since ancient times.

Because of the many restorative powers of brown kelp, the scientists at Restoracell turned to the ocean to enhance the formula of the powerful Stem Cell Awakening Serum. Our giant brown kelp was carefully hand-harvested off the coast of Oregon before being extracted to include in the serum.

It may not look very attractive, but the benefits of Brown Kelp extract (pictured in our lab on right) are beautiful!  That's why you'll find it in our Stem Cell Awakening Serum

Brown kelp can boost UV protection, according to the International Journal of Cancer, 2009.  Considering that 80-90% of the visible signs of aging are attributable to UV damage, that’s no small feat. In addition, a study conducted by Science Dailey News found that “substances extracted from marine seaweed may protect against skin cancer caused by too much sun.”

Like GHK-Cu (copper peptide), brown kelp play a significant role in fighting premature skin aging. They protect the skin from infrared rays and blue light present in sunlight and blue light emitted by digital screens and smartphones.  These rays can cause oxidative stress, damage cells, and accelerate the natural aging process like UV radiation.

Brown kelp support cellular energy production and thus promote skin cell renewal. They slow the decline of collagen production and help to keep the skin elastic and smooth. In addition to valuable minerals and trace elements, brown kelp also offer powerful hydrating, soothing and antioxidant properties, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. Because of this, brown kelp combined with GHK-Cu, Restroacell’s Stem-Awakening Serum, is a great candidate for post-cosmetic procedures.

This amazing seaweed contains a remarkable fucose-rich sulfated polysaccharide called “fucoidan,” which has marked biological activities. These include a blocking effect on receptors for viruses in addition to an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition, Fucoidan can modulate TGF-beta activity in wound repopulation models, which may reduce scarring.

Please note that in your ingredient list on Restoracell’s Stem Awakening Serum, brown algae is indicated by its scientific name Macrocystis Pyifera Extract.
